College magazine contents page improved

I went back to my contents page and decided that the yellow writing underneath the picture could be changed. So what I did, was make the pictures slightly smaller to allow the typical red font to be seen underneath the pictures therefore, making the type under the pictures clearer to read and improv8ing the overall image of the contents page.

Media contents page - preliminary task draft

This is my media contents page and it fits in with the house style of my front cover. It has all the information of where to find everything and pictures to give the reader an idea of what the article is about. Like the front cover, the colours of the contents page also fit the house style of the magazine with the blue, read and white colours reflecting the College. I've also made it easily accessible with clear writing and pictures so it is clear to the reader of where each article is.

Premilinary task - College magazine front cover.

This is my College magazine front cover for my preliminary task. I tried to show the College in a positive light with my front cover and add value to it by making it a Halloween special. I also used big and bold colours to help the magazine be noticed. The colours are different on both sides because both blue and read reflect the colours of the College and it adds more variety to the magazine. I tried to make the magazine unique in this sense.

College magazine front cover draft version.

This is my original draft version of the front cover of my College magazine. I ended up changing a number of things such as placement and extra headings but everything was based off this which was my original version.

Preliminary task- Mood board

I represented my mood board this way because I wanted to show the positivity along with the professionalism that surrounds the College. On a daily basis, there is a 'buzz' around the college and I wanted to show how it really feels to be a student. My target audience would be for people unsure about joining College so 16 -18 year olds. It could be used as a presentation booklet about the benefits of joining College and show the point of views of real students. I selected those pictures because at the top, it shows the helpful receptionist and busy common room. This represents the professionalism and atmosphere around the College. Underneath, I chose the views and trees as a way of presenting the friendly locales Bramcote College is situated under. Finally, I chose the facilities and front of the College to show that it is well maintained and that there is always something to do.

Preliminary task. Contents page analysis.

Overall, I have found that this magazine successfully appeals to its audience by using contrasting colours in order to make the text clearer and by using dark colours to represent the style of the magazine. Also, by using pictures, it makes it easier for the reader to see where everything is.
